School has made Wednesday a millet tiffin day. What do your children actually eat?

The younger one's school has asked for a millet-based tiffin every Wednesday. Reasonable idea. Two weeks in, both Wednesday boxes have come back nearly full. I'm not interested in recipes that look good on a poster. I'd like to know what a 6 year old will finish after it has sat in a steel box for four hours. Same question for the 12 year old, who has decided to join in because his brother is getting 'special' food.

Ragi dosa with plenty of ghee is what my son finished at that age, nothing else. Foxtail millet upma came back every single time. Also, from experience, the school checks what's packed, not what's eaten.

Ragi dosa seems the likeliest. They're made at 6.30 though, and by lunch they've gone leathery. Did you send them rolled or folded, and with what?

Our younger one's school runs a similar day. What has worked here is millet inside a dish he already knows, rather than a new 'millet dish'. Half-ragi idli, a little jowar flour in the chapati dough, bajra in a paratha with a familiar filling. It satisfies the school, and he doesn't notice. I'd separate what the school is checking for from what the child will eat.
