Preferred school day ends at 2.15, our caregiver leaves at 2. Pay the admission fee anyway?

Son is 5, starting class 1 next year. We've found a school we both like and the admission fee is due by the end of next week. The catch is the afternoon: our caregiver's day ends a quarter of an hour before school does, I'm with patients till 6 most days and my partner's site visits don't move. Before we pay, I want to know if after-school care is workable. What do people do for that gap? Daycares that collect from school? A school-run activity period? A second person? I'd love to hear what's working for you, and also what fell apart ❤️

Does the school itself run anything after 2.15? Some do, some don't, and it changes the whole plan ❤️

They mentioned an activity period till 4 on some days, but I didn't get a clear answer on which days or whether it runs every week. Going to ask again before Friday.

Also ask whether it runs during exam weeks and the short holidays. Our daughter is only 3 so we're not there yet, but a cousin's plan fell apart in exactly those weeks.

this. ours ran in term only. for holidays we used a daycare that takes school kids for the afternoon

A daycare near my daughter's school does exactly this, I see them walk six kids over at 2.30 like a little parade 😂 Ask the daycares nearby, not the school.

That's useful, I didn't know daycares did the collection themselves. Do you know what they do if school runs late, or there's an early dismissal nobody told them about?
