Prathibha Vidyaniketan in Habsiguda for class 1 next year. What do the youngest classes do all day?

willow_sandal_3929

Our daughter is in UKG at an IB-style preschool. We had assumed IB for primary as well, but lately my partner and I have been asking ourselves whether the board matters much at six. A colleague who lives in Habsiguda mentioned Prathibha Vidyaniketan at a birthday party, and I liked how she described her son's class. We will visit, of course. Before that, I'd like to hear from parents: how much writing is there in class 1, how much play, and do the little ones get outdoor time most days?

Genuine question, what made you start doubting IB for primary? We're about to have the same argument at home.

Both mine did state board primary and are in high school now, and nothing was missing as far as I can tell. More writing practice than their IB cousins, less project work. Pillalu adjust quickly, it's us parents who take longer 🙂

Partly the distance from Begumpet to the IB schools we liked, partly a few friends with older children telling us the teacher mattered more than the board in the early years. I'm not convinced either way yet. That's why we're looking.

don't know this school. one tip from the other side of the classroom: on the visit, ask what class 1 does between lunch and home time. everyone shows you the morning. the afternoons tell you more.

We are doing a similar comparison for our daughter, who starts class 1 in a couple of years. Do you know whether Prathibha Vidyaniketan follows the state syllabus fully from class 1, or a mix with other books? That decided it for a couple of families we know.
