Partner wants to go back to the shop part-time in June and take our 4 month old along

School reopens in June and I'm back to leaving home before 7. My partner runs a small shop and wants to start going in for a few hours a day from then, with the baby in a corner of the shop, rather than wait until daycare later in the year. I'm not against it, but I'm wary of plans that look fine on paper. Has anyone kept a baby at a workplace like this for a few months? What made it work, and when did it stop working?

My sister ran her boutique with her baby in a corner for almost a year. It worked till he started crawling. After that she needed a helper at the shop just for him, otherwise it was not work, only babysitting with customers watching. Plan for that point from the start.
