Partner wants the baby in his own room at 6 months. I'm the one who isn't ready

He's six months old and sleeps in a cot next to our bed. My partner has read that this is a good age to move him to his own room and wants to start this weekend. The reasoning is fair. We wake him every time we turn over, and he wakes us. I just don't want him down the corridor yet, monitor or no monitor. Did anyone else have one parent ready and one not? How did you decide?

We were exactly this, except I was the one not ready. We compromised: moved her for naps first, and nights about two weeks later. By the time nights came I'd stopped worrying, because I'd seen her nap there fine for days. Twelve years on she still sleeps like a log in that room 🙂
