Our daughter's science tutor is a final-year nursing student, and she's cancelled four times this month

We found her through a friend in May and my daughter (class 8) took to her immediately. She explains the body chapters with examples from the wards, and my daughter has stopped groaning at diagrams, which I never thought I'd see. The trouble is the schedule. Four cancellations in July, mostly on the day, each time with a sorry and something about her duty changing. With the first unit tests just over I'd like some regularity, but I don't want to lose someone my daughter trusts this much. Is this just how final year of nursing goes, and is there a way to plan around it?

I am a staff nurse, I did my diploma not so long ago. In final year the clinical postings change every few weeks and sometimes the duty list comes only the evening before, so she may really not know in advance. Ask her for her posting schedule each month and fix classes only on her off days or after morning duty. In her night duty week, don't expect anything. She is not being careless, final year is very tiring.
