0on How does a class 11 student get to volunteer at a hospital for a week or two?
I am a staff nurse in a private hospital in Miyapur. In our hospital school students come sometimes, but only with a letter from the school and through the HR or nursing office, not directly to the wards. Mostly they sit at the help desk, guide patients, see how the OP runs. They don't handle patients. Ask the admin office of the hospital directly and carry a letter from his school. It is good he wants to see first. Many people come into this line without seeing anything.
I am a staff nurse, I did my diploma not so long ago. In final year the clinical postings change every few weeks and sometimes the duty list comes only the evening before, so she may really not know in advance. Ask her for her posting schedule each month and fix classes only on her off days or after morning duty. In her night duty week, don't expect anything. She is not being careless, final year is very tiring.
0on Class 7 timings at Gowtham Model School, Madinaguda, and are Saturdays full days?
I stay near Madinaguda. My son is only small so I don't know the timings, but my neighbour's daughter studies there, I think class 6 or 7. I will ask her and reply here.
1on Our 15 year old wants to do nursing, and the first question at home was 'why not MBBS?'
I work as staff nurse. I did the diploma (GNM) after inter, not BSc. Work is hard. Night duty, standing the full day, sometimes patients' families shout at you. But it is respected work and there are jobs everywhere, here and outside also. If she likes caring for people she will manage. Now BSc is better than diploma for promotion. Let her talk to nurses in a hospital, not only at career day.
