Our 12 year old wants proper kabaddi coaching after a month of playing in the lane

ochre_chai_9692

For about a month, every evening, he and the boys from our street play kabaddi on the stretch behind the masjid till someone's mother shouts them in. Both his knees are scraped and he's the happiest I've seen him all year. Now he wants 'real' coaching. Is that even a thing for 12 year olds outside school? Cricket and football academies are on every corner. Kabaddi, I have no idea. Tolichowki or Mehdipatnam side ideally. And should I worry about the knees 😄

No first-hand idea about kabaddi, but the summer coaching flyers our colony got last year were mostly from the government stadiums, and a couple listed kabaddi along with athletics and volleyball. Might be worth asking at the stadium nearest you. They tend to be early morning and not expensive.

Find out first what he likes. The game, or those particular boys? Coaching with strangers at 6 am is a very different thing from lane kabaddi at 7 pm. Scraped knees are fine. When you find a coach, ask whether they play on mats or mud.
