Onam video call with my mother and my daughter needed me to translate

We are from Kerala, posted in Hyderabad one year now. On Onam we did a video call with my mother and the whole family back home. My daughter is 11, she understands some Malayalam but she cannot read it and she answered everything in English. My mother asked me after, why the child is not talking to her properly. I want her to learn to read and write Malayalam at least a little. Her school is CBSE, class 6, third language is Hindi. Is anyone teaching their children Malayalam here? Online class or a teacher near Trimulgherry or Bowenpally?

same worry with telugu for my 3 yr old and we actually live in hyderabad. no idea about malayalam specifically but a friend's kids do an online weekend class for tamil, two hours, they seem to like it

My daughter is 19, understands Urdu perfectly and can't read a word of it. We started her at 13 and it didn't stick with exams in the way. Earlier is easier, from what I saw.

Online weekend class is also what I am thinking. There is a Malayali association near Secunderabad, I will ask them also if they run anything for children.

check if her school even offers malayalam as an option later. at my son's school it's hindi, telugu or french from 6th, nothing else, so outside classes were the only way for languages at home
