New client wants a daily 3.30 call, which is exactly when I leave for school pickup

I do pickup every day and my partner does the morning drop. A new client wants a 15-minute daily check-in at 3.30, and the school gate opens at 3.40. I could take the call from the car, which I suspect is what everyone does. I don't love it. My daughter talks the most in the first ten minutes after school, and I've noticed I only get the full story when I'm not half-listening. The other option is asking the client to move it, and it's the early weeks with them. Has anyone pushed back on a slot like this with a new client? How did you phrase it?

Asked a client to move mine to 4.15 last year. Said I had a 'standing commitment'. Nobody asked what 🤷

car calls. done it. kid in the back narrating her whole day while the client is mid-sentence. not recommended 😄

I'd offer 3.00 instead of 3.30 rather than just asking them to move it. A specific alternative usually goes down better than saying you're unavailable.

Daily 15 minutes with a new client rarely stays daily past the first month. I'd take it from a parked car for now.

that ten minutes after school is real. mine tells me everything in the car and nothing at dinner. i'd protect it

i run a small company and if a client asked me to move a call for school pickup i'd say yes straight away. most of us have kids or will. just ask
