My son lives for games period. Does Valerian Grammar High School in Bolarum give the middle classes a proper one?

We may be renting on the Secunderabad side from next year, and Valerian Grammar High School in Bolarum came up when I looked at schools near where we'd likely be. Our son is in class 6. He's a runner, and the games period is the main reason he likes school at all. At his current school it was cut to once a week this year and he's miserable about it. Parents of middle-schoolers there, or anyone who knows the school: how often do they get a games period, and is there a proper ground? I know the board change is a separate question. I'm starting with the thing he'll ask me first.

not this school, but state board schools vary a lot on games. our elder's school had pt twice a week till class 8 and then it shrank. ask to see the timetable for his class, not the brochure

'Proper ground' means different things to different schools. Ask how big, and whether the middle classes use it during the week or only for sports day. We were once shown a big ground that turned out to be used by the senior classes only.

That's the question I would have forgotten to ask, thank you. I'll ask which classes use it on which days. He'd notice within a week if it was only for show. ❤️

Since you'd be changing boards as well, it may help to ask what the class 6 or 7 week looks like overall: total periods, and how many go to games, library and activities. That puts the games time in context. Two games periods followed by a long study hour may feel quite different to him from one period and an early finish.

Bolarum from Kokapet is a big shift, hope the renting works out. No idea about this school's ground, but my son runs too, and what saved us when his games time dropped was an evening running group in our colony. Might be worth looking for one wherever you land, so school isn't his only outlet.
