My 5 year old and his nanny will be on their own near Kondapur while I'm in workshops all week. Easy mornings for them?

I'll be at our Hitec City office for client workshops for a week at the end of the month, 9 to 6 every day. My son is coming along with his nanny, because the alternative was a week of complicated arrangements back home in Pune. She is very capable but has never been to Hyderabad and doesn't speak Telugu, so whatever they do has to be simple for her to manage alone: a short cab ride from where we're staying near Kondapur, easy to find, and not a mall. He likes football and anything with animals. If it rains, which it probably will, an indoor option would help too.

    KBR Park is lovely in the mornings if it isn't pouring. Shaded walking track, and he may spot peacocks. For animals the zoo is the obvious one, but it's far from Kondapur, easily an hour each way in traffic. Worth one morning, not more.

    Within a short cab ride of Kondapur the realistic list is short. The botanical garden at Kothaguda is close and good for an hour or two in the morning. Shilparamam is near Hitec City and fine for a 5 year old for one visit. Beyond that, most indoor play places on that side are inside malls, so the no-mall rule may have to bend on the wet days.

    zoo for one morning definitely. go early before it gets hot and crowded. the battery vehicle round is useful if he gets tired, our 4 yr old did half on foot half on that

    is there a football turf near where you're staying. on weekdays most turfs sit empty till about 4. could just book an hour and let him kick around with the nanny

    With a nanny and a 5 year old, one outing in the morning and home by lunch is usually the pattern that holds, then a nap or quiet time. Trying to fill every morning with a new place tends to end with a tired, cranky child by Wednesday. I'd pick two or three of the places suggested here and repeat whichever one he likes.

    Book cabs for the morning slot in advance. Kondapur at 9.30 is worse than people here are admitting, and a 20 minute ride can turn into 50.
