We had a near miss at work on Friday, and my manager wants me back on the overnight call list from this week. She's 8 months, still feeds at night, and has never gone to sleep without me in the house. My partner is willing, but has early lab starts and has done maybe three bedtimes in total. If you had a night away around this age, what did you set up beforehand? Should I start handing bedtime over now ❤
My partner's first night away was a work trip when our younger one was about this age. We did a week of me doing bedtime, with my partner in the next room. First two nights she screamed, by the fifth she was grumpy but fine. The real night away went better than the practice.
The practice week is what helped us too. The surprise for me was how uncomfortable I would be physically that night, so plan for yourself as well, not only for her.

Got called in last night, home by 4 am. My partner says she woke once, protested for a while, took the bottle and went back down. I was the one awake till 6. Thank you both, we started the practice bedtimes the same evening and I think they helped ❤
