5 month old. back on early lists. most days i get 20 min with her in the evening and that's it. partner's home with her, caregiver comes at 8. tempted to wake her at 5.30 just to get a feed and a cuddle in before i go. is that mad?

Not mad, but I'd be careful. With our younger one we tried shifting her mornings earlier so I'd see her before work, and within a week she was simply waking at 5 every day, weekends included. It is very hard to move back. A later bedtime on the evenings you're home worked much better for us.

we moved our son's wake-up by half an hour once and it took a month to undo. bedtime bends much more easily than mornings

I left before my son woke for most of his first year. Bedtime was mine instead. He's 15 now and remembers neither, if that helps.

ha. 'remembers neither' is weirdly comforting. ok, bedtime it is. mostly
