Is it odd to ask a school to put us in touch with a couple of current parents before we pay?

We have LKG offers from two schools for our daughter and need to pay one by next week. Both visits went well. Both brochures say much the same things. What I really want is to talk to two or three parents whose kids are already in that class. My partner thinks asking the school will look like we don't trust them. I think a school that's confident would just do it. Has anyone asked? What did the school say?

Ask. Worst case they say no. But the parents they pick will be the happy ones. You'd learn more standing outside at pickup time and talking to whoever comes out.

  schools are shut till june. no pickup to stand outside. that's the whole reason i'm asking

We asked while applying for our son's class 1. The school gave us two names. Both lovely, both clearly briefed 😄 More useful was asking in our building group. Someone always knows someone with a child there, and they'll tell you the boring stuff the school won't.
