Is a 5:30 am cricket batch sustainable for a 13 year old during term?

My elder son, 13, wants to join a cricket academy where the serious batch runs from 5:30 to 7:30 in the morning. He would go straight to school from there. He is genuinely keen and has been asking for a year. My hesitation is the routine behind it, not the cricket. He already sleeps around 10:30. Waking at 4:45 six days a week, then school, then homework, seems a lot. The coach says most boys adjust within a month. For parents whose children trained early in the morning: did they adjust, and what had to give?

from the school side: the early training kids are often the ones asleep in period one. not all of them. depends a lot on bedtime

That is useful. Did you see it settle after the first few weeks, or does it tend to last through the term?

      Replying to @willow_violin_5024

not a teacher, but my daughter did 6 am swimming for a term last year. first month zombie, second month fine, then exams came and we paused it. bedtime moving to 9:30 was the real fight, not the alarm
