In-laws are here till June and our 6 year old has moved into their room at night

She sleeps between them, gets stories in Bangla, and is up at 6 for her thakuma's morning walk. She's happier than I've seen her in months. The problem is that they leave in four weeks, and she only started sleeping in her own room last year. Do I let it go and deal with it in June, or keep one or two nights a week in her own bed so the change isn't so sudden?

my parents stayed two months last winter and our son did exactly this. the first week after they left was rough. by the second week he'd stopped asking. i didn't do anything clever in between, i just waited it out

let her have it. four weeks with grandparents doesn't come often. the bed can wait

That's where I'm leaning. My son pointed out that he did exactly the same at her age and nobody made a plan for him either.

Hamare yahan ulta hai. My son wants his nani every night but she is in Gaya. We came here this year only and he still asks when we are going back. You are lucky they are with you for some weeks. Let her enjoy.
