I'm a dermatologist and I cannot get my 11 year old to wear sunscreen to cricket
I spend half my clinic day explaining sunscreen to other people's teenagers. My own son goes to cricket practice four evenings a week, in this sun, and the tube I put in his kit bag comes back unopened every single time. It makes his hands slippery for the ball, it smells, nobody else wears it. I've tried a stick, a gel, and asking his coach to remind them. The coach laughed. His older brother is no help either. He belongs to the 'Amma, we don't burn' school, which I've stopped arguing with at dinner. Any tricks from parents whose kids play outdoor sport? I'd settle for his face and the back of his neck ❤️
