ICSE to CBSE for class 5 if we end up near Amberpet. Anyone looked at Sri Vidya Secondary School?

There's a chance we move in with my in-laws in Amberpet next year. Nothing final, my sasubai is keen and we're still thinking it over. If it happens, my daughter would go into class 5, and she has only done ICSE so far. Sri Vidya Secondary School came up because it's close to their place and goes up to class 10, so no second switch later. Has anyone visited or looked at it? Mainly I'd like to know how they take in a child mid-primary, and how big the shift from ICSE to CBSE felt for your kids. She's a reader, so English I'm not worried about. Maths is the worry.

Don't know that school, sorry. On the ICSE to CBSE part though: my daughter's class got two girls from ICSE in class 5 and both were ahead in English and grammar. Maths was the adjustment, mostly the way answers are expected to be laid out. One of them took about a term to stop being annoyed by it 🙂

Decide the move first. If the house isn't fixed, you're shortlisting schools for an address you may not have. Also, second language. What does she take now? At class 5 that matters more than the board.

When we checked schools for our daughter, almost all of them offered only Hindi and Telugu as second language. Kannada nowhere. If she does Marathi or something else now, ask that early.

Up with the baby, so reading old threads. When you visit, go around closing time and not only to the office. You see how pickup works, how the older kids are around the little ones, and you can usually catch a parent at the gate to ask a couple of things. It's what I plan to do when our turn comes.

We're in Domalguda and drove around that side when we were looking for our elder one's school. Never went inside that one, so nothing first-hand. One thing I'd ask any school for a class 5 joiner: which English and Hindi textbooks they use, so she can get familiar with them over the summer before joining.

Thanks all. The move is still a maybe, so I'll hold off on visits like someone said above, but I've noted the closing-time idea and the textbook list. Her second language is Hindi, so that part at least is fine 🙂
