How many overlap days did you do with the caregiver before going back to work?

Caregiver starts on Monday. I'm back at work in early August, baby will be around 5 months by then. My plan was two full weeks with me at home, then she's on her own. My partner thinks one week is enough. My mother thinks a month. I'm guessing the right answer is somewhere in between and mostly depends on me, not him. What did you do and what would you change?

Yes. Day three for the baby, week three for me. With my second one it was easier only because I had learnt to leave the house.

Two weeks is fine but don't hover the whole time, that was my mistake. In the second week I started going out for half days, to the bank, to a café, anywhere, so she handled a full feed and nap without me watching. That was the real trial. When I came back and the baby was asleep and nothing had burnt down, I felt ready.
