How heavy is the homework at Good Citizens High School around class 6?

saffron_pigeon_9279

My son's school is about forty minutes from us in LB Nagar. He's in class 5, and I do the afternoon pickup, and on days when a case runs late, that pickup becomes a scramble. Good Citizens High School is close to home, so it has come up in our discussions for class 6. I am aware it is State Board and he has been in CBSE throughout. Before we look seriously, I would like to understand two things from families who know the school: what the daily homework load is like around classes 5 and 6, and whether children manage it on their own or most of them attend tuition. The second matters to me because my son already waits for one of us before starting work he can do himself. I would rather not move him somewhere that makes that worse.

Not a parent yet, our first is due soon. But I studied State Board till 10th in Suryapet, then B.Pharm, and the board never came up anywhere after that. If the school is close and he is happy, that counts for a lot.

the one thing i'd check is the second language. my daughter's telugu gets done with a lot of help at home and it's still the subject i worry about most. if he's been doing it at an easier level so far, a change at class 6 might feel like a jump

'Most children go to tuition' is something people say about every school. You'll hear it about this one too and it won't tell you much. Ask the school what time class 6 finishes and how much written work they set on an average day. Then find two parents and ask them the same question. Don't decide based on a group chat.

Fair point. I will ask for the class 6 timetable when I go in on Saturday. Finding two parents who will give a straight answer is the harder part, which is partly why I posted here.
