Homework at 8 pm after theatre days. Is 7 too young for a home tutor?

She's in class 2. On my theatre days I'm home by 7.30, so homework happens after dinner, and every line becomes an argument till 9. Our caregiver is very good with everything else but can't help with this. I'm thinking of a tutor for one hour at 5, only to get the homework done, bas. Is that too young? My sister says it will make her dependent.

class 2 homework is meant to take 15-20 minutes. if it's taking 90, the arguing is the homework. a tutor will get it done, sure. i'd still ask her teacher how long she expects it to take first

Fair. Actual work is maybe 20 minutes, rest is drama 🙂 Will ask the teacher at the next meeting.

We got someone for our elder at about that age for the same reason. It bought us calm evenings more than anything academic. She didn't become dependent, she just stopped saving the homework for me. Do check the tutor isn't quietly doing it for her though.
