Heat rash all over our 6 month old's neck and back, and daycare says we dress him too warm

Red pinprick rash came up on Sunday, mostly in the neck folds and on his back. Doctor saw him Monday, said heat rash, keep him cool, loose cotton, nothing else needed. Fine. Yesterday at pickup the daycare teacher told me, nicely, that we send him in too many layers. Vest plus onesie plus a sleepsuit on top. That's my mother's packing, she thinks their AC is too cold. What do your babies wear to daycare in this heat?

Twenty years ago my mother did exactly this with our son. Two layers minimum, whatever the weather. Our doctor told us to dress him the way we dressed ourselves, plus at most one thin layer if the room was cold. Took a while to convince his grandmother, but the rash cleared once we did ❤️

'Like yourself plus one thin layer.' Writing that on a note inside his bag for my mother 🤷

one thin cotton onesie in summer, that's all. both mine got prickly heat as babies, going from AC into a hot car made it worse 😅 keep a spare onesie in the bag for after pickup
