Extra Saturday classes for class 10 or her usual tuition, we can't fit both

jade_puzzle_508

School has announced Saturday classes for class 10 starting next month, through to the pre-boards. My daughter already has maths and science tuition on Saturday mornings. Both can't happen. She's leaning towards the school classes because her friends will be there. The tuition teacher says he covers more. Has anyone weighed this before?

Different board for us, so I can't speak to what CBSE schools cover on those days. In her tenth year we had a similar clash and let her choose which to drop. She dropped tuition and it was fine for her, partly because she'd chosen it herself and so took the school sessions seriously. Whether it would work for another child I don't know. I'd find out whether the school Saturdays are new teaching or revision and tests. That changes the answer.

That's the question I'd want answered too. Were the school sessions mostly practice papers in your case, or did they teach new material? My daughter is only 11, but I'm already hearing about this from parents a couple of years ahead.
