Entrance test for class 6 joiners at St.George Grammer School, Yapral?

fern_bottle_4884

Possible move to the Yapral side next year. Son would be joining class 6, coming from CBSE. Two questions for parents who know the admission process there. Do joiners sit a written test, and if so, what is it on: the current class syllabus, general aptitude, English only? And does a CBSE child usually need to catch up on anything for State Board at that level? Not looking for opinions on the school overall.

Can't speak for this school. When we looked at class 6 moves elsewhere, the tests were English and maths at roughly class 5 level, plus a short chat with the child. Request a sample paper or a topic list from the office. Some schools hand one over, some don't, but the ones that do save you a lot of guessing.

Also ask whether the test decides admission by itself or whether there's an interview as well. With our older son, one school used the test only to place him in a section, which nobody mentioned until afterwards.

is the move confirmed? yapral from nagole is a long way to go for a test if it isn't

my son switched schools at class 6, about ten years back. the test turned out to be the easy part. the first term with new friends was the harder one, for both of us
