Daughter makes beautiful mind maps for every chapter, then can't answer a question without them
Her class 7 half-yearlies start in two weeks. Her revision method is to make a mind map for each chapter: colours, arrows, small drawings. They take an hour each and they are genuinely good. The trouble is that when I close the notebook and ask her a question from the same chapter, she can't recall it without looking. She is convinced making the map is the revising. I suspect the making is the part she enjoys and the recalling is the part she avoids. How do I get her to test herself without dismissing something she has clearly put effort into?
