Daughter joins her first job in Hyderabad next month. Where do new joiners usually live?

Our daughter has finished her degree in Chennai and joins a company near Hitec City in mid-July. She intends to share a flat with two friends from her batch, which seems sensible. None of us know Hyderabad well. I would like to understand how others have gone about it. Which areas do young people working in that part of the city tend to live in, and is it usual to sign a lease before arriving, or to stay somewhere temporary for a few weeks and look in person? I am trying to separate what needs deciding from Chennai and what she can sort out once she is there.

Most of the younger people on my teams live in Gachibowli, Kondapur, Madhapur or around Nanakramguda, close enough to dodge the worst of the evening traffic. I'd go temporary first. A couple of weeks in a company guest house or a serviced flat, then look at places on a weekday around 7 pm so they see the street when it's busy.

Has the company said anything about a relocation allowance or a temporary stay? Many offer a week or two. Ask HR in writing before anyone pays a deposit. And three friends from one batch works until one of them gets posted elsewhere. Whose name goes on the lease?

Most of my batchmates from Nalgonda started in ladies' hostels near Madhapur and moved to flats after a few months, once they knew which route their office cab took. For two of them the lease was in one person's name and it became a problem when the others left. So the aunty's question is the right one.
