Dasara holiday homework list came home before the half-yearlies are even over

Two kids, two lists. The younger one's has a project on festivals of Telangana with 'creative presentation'. The class 6 list has five worksheets and a model of the solar system. Exams finish this week. I'm not against holiday homework. I just know exactly who will be cutting thermocol at 11 pm the night before school reopens, and it won't be the children 🙂 Do you make them start in the first week, or let them have the break and deal with it at the end?

Teacher here, so the other side of this. We send it before the break because once school closes nobody reads the circular 🙂 What gets checked properly is the written work. The model is mostly for display. Get the worksheets done in the first three days, then leave it. The solar system can be the family project on the last weekend.
