Class rep for next year? Every working parent in the group seems to say no

olive_hammock_5784

The class teacher has asked for two parent representatives for class 3 next year. The role is mostly the class WhatsApp group, a couple of meetings, and helping on event days like sports day. Every parent who works full-time has politely declined, and it's falling on the same two mothers again. I'm the main earner in our house and I leave at 7.30, so I know I'd be slow on messages during the day. I still feel I should offer something. Has anyone done this while working full-time, and what did it take?

Did it for my older son's class one year. Mostly forwarding notices and collecting money for teachers' day. Doable from a phone at lunch. The events are the hard part, I took leave twice.

Could you offer to share it? In our son's class two working parents split it, one runs the group and notices, the other does events. Nobody burned out.

Sharing it is a good idea. I've messaged one of the fathers who also said no, and he's open to splitting it if I take the group.
