Class 4 daughter keeps a tally of every 'good' and 'very good' in her notebooks

Found a page at the back of her maths notebook last night with two columns. 'Good' has 14 marks. 'Very good' has 9. There's a third column called 'Excellent' with exactly one mark and a small star next to it. She informs us that when 'Excellent' reaches five, the family is taking her out for dosa. Nobody in this house remembers agreeing to this. Apparently I agreed 'in July'. Now everyone is waiting for Excellent number two 🙂

Ha, proper accountant. Keep that page, you'll want it when she's older. Only thing, if the teacher changes and the new one writes 'good' for everything, be ready for a big emotional crisis 😄

Teachers do change how they mark. My son's class 6 teacher wrote only ticks the whole year. He took it personally for a month, then forgot about it.

I check teachers' notebooks as part of my job, and 'Excellent' is the remark they get stingiest with as the year goes on. She may be waiting a while for number five. Pay up when it comes, though. A promise made 'in July' is still a promise.

Number two came on Friday, in EVS. She made us clap at dinner. Three to go, dosa fund is ready 😄
