can ex-students visit their old school with their kids? mine was nandini high school in abids

we lived in abids when i was small and i went to nandini high school till we moved. my daughter has decided she must see 'mama's school'. she's been asking ever since she found an old class photo at my mother's. i'm not after admission or anything, we're settled in kukatpally. just wondering if schools let former students come in for a look, or if i should call the office first. and which day would be least disruptive

Teacher here, at a different school. Call the office first and ask for a Saturday or a weekday after dismissal. Ex-students are usually welcome, but walking in during exam weeks or the morning rush is what puts staff off. Late August is unit test time in a lot of schools, so maybe wait a few weeks.

I did this with my old school last year, with my son in the carrier. The office was kind about it. Be prepared for half the building to have changed. I was far more emotional than either of them, and my son slept through the whole thing.

the half-the-building-changed part is what i'm bracing for. calling the office this week, and we'll go after the tests like the teacher suggested
