Can a grandparent make the first enquiry at St. Johns Model School in Alwal, or should the parents come?

My grandson is in class 3. His parents are thinking of moving him to a school near us in Sainikpuri, so that he can come to our house after school, and St. Johns Model School in Alwal is one of the names. They both work long hours, so they have asked me to go and make the first enquiry. Do school offices usually speak to a grandparent about admissions, or will they want the parents there from the start? I don't want to waste a trip or embarrass anyone. I'd also be glad to hear what you would ask if you were in my place.

Most offices talk to anyone for a first enquiry I think. Forms are another matter. Carry the parents' numbers 😄

Agree with this. When my father went to ask about a daycare for our daughter, they were happy to show him around but wanted one of us for the paperwork. A written list of our questions helped him a lot.

One thing to check before you go: the listing says the school goes up to class 7. If he joins in class 4, that's another move in three or four years. Might be worth asking the parents whether they're fine with that, and making it one of your questions to the office too.

Good catch. Also worth asking how pickup by grandparents works there, whether they need a form or a card. Our daycare asked for a photo and ID for anyone other than the parents.
