buying a flat now with a baby. how much should nearby schools matter

lagoon_river_4846

we're finally buying, probably rajendranagar or a little further out. son is under a year. everyone in the family says pick the flat based on schools. but school is three years away and we don't even know which board we want. is it worth weighting that now or do we pick the flat and figure out school later

'Based on schools' meaning what, exactly? The school that looks good now may not be the one you want in three years. Buy for your commute and for decent roads towards two or three areas. Schools you can choose later. A flat you're stuck with.

Agree, but I'd add one thing: check the morning traffic towards the schools you might use, not just the distance. We're 4 km from our son's school and some days it's 35 minutes.

fair. the commute is the thing we'd feel every single day. going to drive the routes at 7.30 am before we decide
