biggest client wants every saturday morning till september

saturday is the one morning all four of us are home. partner's on a career break so weekdays are covered but saturday is our day. client is big enough that i can't really say no and the review is 10 to 1, which kills the whole day once you add prep how do you handle this, give up the day for a couple of months or push back 🤷

In retail we gave up Saturdays years ago, the shop is busiest then. We do a Monday evening dinner out instead. Not the same but the kids look forward to it now

Friday night works better than Monday if your kids have weekday tests. I see a lot of tired faces on Tuesday mornings.

Came back to add one thing. Could half of the review be online? Our suppliers stopped insisting on visiting once we offered them a video call slot that suited them.

Agreed. In my own consulting work I have found that offering two specific alternatives goes down better than declining. A Friday evening slot, or a shorter Saturday call from 9 to 10, for instance. Clients mostly want certainty, not that particular day.

Online would help. One thought from the other side, though. Our son at 12 has largely stopped wanting family Saturdays; he would rather be with his friends. If your elder one is the same, the loss may be mostly yours and your partner's. Still a loss, but a different one to plan around.
