Asking facilities for a parking spot near the lift. Too early?

Our office keeps a few reserved spots near the lifts. I'm not showing yet and only my manager knows. The walk from where I usually park is three levels of ramps, and I'm sick most mornings. Did you ask for this kind of thing early, or wait until it was obvious? I'd rather facilities didn't know before my team does.
