Asking about class 1 at Gowtham Model High School in the middle of May. Am I wasting their time?

Our younger one finishes UKG at a preschool that stops there, and we have a class 1 seat at a CBSE school that is a 40-minute van ride away. Her brother did a ride like that for years and I'm not keen to repeat it. Gowtham Model is five minutes on foot. It's State Board, which we hadn't really considered, but at class 1 I care more about the walk than the board. Has anyone enquired there this late in the season? Trying to work out whether to go in person or not bother.

Both our boys are in an English-medium state board school, so I can speak to the board question rather than this particular school. In class 1 the difference from CBSE is small; the books are simpler and Telugu gets a little more weight. It starts to matter around class 6 to 8, when you'd want to decide whether she stays till 10. On timing, I would go in person. In our experience a few seats do open up in May when families move, and those get sorted out at the counter, not on the phone.

Agree, go in person. And five minutes on foot is worth a great deal at that age. My grandson's school is a short walk and on days like these that alone is a blessing 🤷

check the refund rules on the cbse seat before you go. some schools keep the whole term's fee if you pull out

      Replying to @banyan_notebook_3478

is that common? we're doing class 1 next year and i assumed the admission fee was the only thing you lose
