Another mother messages me every evening for the class 7 homework her son didn't write down

lagoon_pebble_9901

It started in June with one message, 'what is the maths homework, he forgot to note'. Now it is every evening around 8, sometimes for two or three subjects, sometimes a request to send photos of my daughter's notebook. I don't mind helping once in a while. But my daughter has started to resent her notebook being photographed every night, and I'm usually in the middle of dinner or a work call. The boy's mother is perfectly nice and I don't want to make it awkward, we see each other at every school event. How do I step back from this without falling out with her?

This happened to me last year with a classmate's parent. I started saying I'd check once my son was done with his own homework, so the reply came at 9.30 instead of 8. She slowly started asking someone else. Not very brave of me, but it worked ❤️

you could mute her till 9 and reply in one go. or suggest she asks the class teacher about a homework board or app. some schools do that if enough parents ask

Is the boy not writing it down? That is the actual problem, and it isn't yours to fix. A friendly line like 'he needs to start noting it himself, I won't always be around' says it without a fight.
