5 week old. my mother has been here since the delivery and quietly took all the nights. partner and i did the days. she leaves sunday. i have never once done 2 am alone with him. how bad is the first week
first night is the worst because you're listening for every sound. by the fourth you'll know his. we did shifts, 9 to 1 and then 1 till morning, so each of us got one proper stretch of sleep. worked better than both of us being half awake all night.
Shifts is correct. With my son also, my amma left after 40 days and I cried the day before she went. First week was hard, second week was ok. Keep calling her. She will want to hear from you anyway, even at 2 am she will pick up.
