A coaching centre is offering 'Extended Essay mentoring' for IB. Is that even allowed?

My older daughter is 16 and in DP1. She's starting to think about her Extended Essay topic. A centre near us in Gachibowli has started advertising EE mentoring: weekly sessions, topic selection, 'structure and editing support'. A couple of her classmates have signed up. My understanding is that the school assigns a supervisor and there are strict rules about outside help. But the centre's flyer is quite confident. Has anyone used something like this, or asked their school what's permitted?

Ours are both in PYP, so nothing first-hand on the EE. My concern would be the school's academic honesty policy. Before paying for anything, I'd ask her supervisor what kind of outside help is acceptable. Better to have that answer in writing than find out at submission.

fair. her supervisor meeting is next week, i'll ask before signing anything. the flyer says 'supervisor-approved approach', which is exactly what made me suspicious in the first place

      Replying to @linen_balcony_2650

Ask the centre what a session consists of, minute by minute. If the answer is mostly 'structuring' and 'editing', that's the part the school will care about. 'Supervisor-approved' on a flyer means nothing until the supervisor says it.
