A boy called her rajma chawal smelly, and now our class 8 daughter only wants sandwiches

Rajma chawal has been her favourite since she was tiny. This week she asked for only sandwiches, and when I pushed a bit she told me a boy held his nose when she opened her dabba on Monday. Two girls laughed. She's not upset in a crying way, more embarrassed. Part of me wants to keep sending what she loves, part of me remembers being 13. Not sure whether to make it a thing or just let her pack what she wants for a while.

mostly agree. ours stopped taking idli for a term in class 7. went back to it on her own and now carries extra for her friends

Was it one boy once, or is it a pattern? If it's one comment, she's handling it fine by switching for a while. If it keeps happening, that's worth mentioning to the class teacher, not because of the food but because of the laughing.

My Aai used to pack thalipeeth for my brother and he traded it away every single day for bread-jam 😄 Now he asks her to make thalipeeth every time he visits. She'll come back to rajma.
