7 year old wants to join her brother's cricket academy. She'd be the only girl in her batch

She has watched him practise for two years and bowls better than half the boys in our lane. The academy says girls are welcome and would put her in the under-10 batch, which right now is fourteen boys. She doesn't seem bothered. I am, a little. Has anyone's daughter been the only girl in a batch? Did it last?

My older daughter was the only girl in a weekend football group last year. She liked the game, but for the first month the boys simply didn't pass to her, and the coach didn't notice until I mentioned it. She stayed, though I still can't tell whether it was the football she enjoyed or proving a point. I would ask the coach how he handles that in practice, rather than whether girls are welcome. Every academy says they are.

That's a useful question to ask, thanks. Will catch him on Saturday. Did another girl ever join her group?

      Replying to @cedar_hammock_3410

Not the person you asked, but my daughter was in a similar position in a cricket batch around that age. A second girl joined after about four months, and that changed more than anything the coach did. Some academies run a separate girls' session on another day for this reason. Ask whether yours has one, even if she keeps training with the boys as well.
