3 month old cries from 6 to 8 every evening, which is exactly when I get home

juniper_trail_9892

The caregiver says she's calm all afternoon. My partner says the mornings are fine too. Then I walk in after a release day and it's two hours of crying, rocking, walking, more crying. I'm told this is a phase. I'm also starting to take it personally. Her paediatrician saw her at the last visit and wasn't worried, so this isn't a medical question. Did it pass for you, and roughly when?

Our little one did this exact thing at that age. 6 pm sharp, like she'd booked the slot. I thought it was me too, it wasn't. For us it faded somewhere in the fourth month, not overnight, just a bit shorter each week. Walking her up and down the balcony helped me more than it helped her :)

My two are in middle and primary school now, so my memory is hazy, but I remember the evening stretch with our first being the hardest part of those months. It did end. The one thing I would add is to swap with your partner some evenings, so you are not always the one holding her at the worst hour and starting to dread the drive home.
