2on Son's friends have started sending me their sports injuries
up with the baby and reading this. at school the older boys do the same with our nurse, they'll show her anything as long as it isn't their parents. i think it says something about how he talks about you at home, even if it's a nuisance
4on Preschool teacher tells my mother things at pickup that I only hear about at 9 pm
teachers tell whoever's at the gate because that's the moment they have. most don't think about whether it reaches the parent after. at the school where i work we started putting a two-line note on the app for any fall, even small ones. it wasn't the teachers' idea, a parent asked for it.
0on Cutting one clinic session so I'm home after school. Worth it at nine?
from the school side, the class 4 kids whose parent turns up at pickup now and then aren't different on paper. but they tell their teachers about it. 'amma came today'. i hear that a lot at that age, more than from the little ones
0on He is learning English letters in school. Should I start Urdu letters at home now?
I grew up reading Urdu at home and English at school, both from around five. I don't remember it being confusing. I remember my nani's patience more than the letters.
2on School wants a short video of me for its admissions page. How honest can a testimonial be?
from the school side: we ask parents because families stopped believing staff a long time ago. the clips that worked best were the ones where a parent said 'this part works for us, this part we're still figuring out'. if a school edits that out, that tells you something too.
