Preschool teacher tells my mother things at pickup that I only hear about at 9 pm

Yesterday my daughter slipped in the play area. Small bump, nothing serious, and the teacher told my mother at pickup. I found out at dinner, as a side remark, after I asked why there was a plaster on her knee. We agreed when she started that school messages come to us and not to Amma, because she doesn't use the class app and details get lost. But a conversation at the gate is a different thing, and I can't exactly ask the teacher not to talk to her. How do you make sure the important bits reach the parent the same day?

teachers tell whoever's at the gate because that's the moment they have. most don't think about whether it reaches the parent after. at the school where i work we started putting a two-line note on the app for any fall, even small ones. it wasn't the teachers' idea, a parent asked for it.

We have the same setup. My Bapa does pickup and his report is 'all fine' unless there was blood. We asked the teacher to put one line in the diary for anything to do with a fall, a fight or not eating. She was happy to, it takes her less time than explaining at the gate with ten parents waiting. Some days she forgets, but mostly it works.

Asked her this morning for a diary line for falls and anything about food. She said yes without any fuss ❤️ I think it was bigger in my head than it needed to be.
