Ours is in class 6 and still wants to be in the hall with everyone. If your son is asking for a door he can close, that may be the point as much as the desk. Where did he study before this term?

We're in KPHB, close to that side, but our son isn't there so I can't answer the homework part. One practical thing: if you visit, go around dismissal time on a weekday and see the traffic on the main road. That will tell you more about the distance than the map.
