  • 0on Sree Aditya from class 3 with almost no Telugu. Do children who join late catch up?

To separate what I know from what I'm assuming: my elder daughter joined Telugu in class 2 at a CBSE school and started from letters. That I know. Whether Sree Aditya does the same for class 3, I don't. What helped her most was a weekly tutor who did only reading aloud, no worksheets.

  • 1on Maples in Kukatpally has a parent interaction for admission. Can a guardian attend instead?

I would ask the office for their list in writing before preparing anything. Schools seem to differ a lot on this. Some accept a signed authorisation letter with both parents' ID copies, others want at least one parent there in person. My assumption, not certain, is that a notarised letter covers most cases, but there is no point paying for one if they don't need it.

  • 0on Partner saved two weeks of leave. Use them now, or when I go back to the store?

I split mine with our younger one: a few days at the start and the rest in the week my partner went back to work. That first week back is the one I would not have wanted to miss. The handovers were new for everyone, and having a second adult around who was not going anywhere took a lot of pressure off. The nights at two months were hard, but they were going to be hard either way. Is your return to the store a fixed date?

  • 0on Two months at my in-laws' with the baby while I stay back for work. Good idea?

We did this with our first, for about seven weeks. What I would do differently: fix the return date before leaving, not 'when the baby is settled', because there is always another reason to stay. And agree beforehand on how decisions get made there, feeding and sleep in particular, because the grandparents will have their own system and you will not be in the room. The weekend visits were good for me but tiring. That part depends on the drive.

  • 6on Society cricket with the big boys, or a coaching batch for a 5 year old?

I can only speak for our elder daughter, who joined a football academy at five, not cricket. For the first year her coach mostly ran games, so it never felt like a class to her. I would assume cricket academies vary a great deal on that, so it may be worth asking what their youngest batch does in a typical session. In the meantime I see no harm in letting him keep the evening games.

  • 4on How much did the second move at class 3 bother families who chose SmartgenKids in Mayuri Nagar?

I can speak to the move, not the school. Two children joined our elder daughter's class in class 3 from a school that stopped at class 2. From what I saw as a parent, at birthday parties and the like, both had friends within a term. I have no idea what it cost their parents in effort, so treat that as an outside view.

  • 0on Our younger son reads better than his older brother, and the older one has noticed

Two daughters here, six years apart, so I can't claim the same experience. I would only say that 'reads slowly and doesn't enjoy it' in class 2 is very common and often just a stage. If it continues into class 3, it may be worth asking his teacher what she sees in class, rather than drawing conclusions from home.
