Don't know Holy Mary. A friend's boy made the same switch at that age, and he was fine in everything except the second language for the first year. They got a tutor for a few months and then stopped.

Our son's class had this last year. The first two weeks were all complaints at dinner. Then one day he mentioned that his partner was the only one who laughed at his jokes, and the complaints stopped. I never found out if they're friends now or just a good audience for each other.
