And whether that person has done it for a child before, or would be learning on your daughter. Big difference. A school that says "let's sit down with your doctor first" sounds better to me than one that says yes on the spot.

Who reads these, and what are they checking? If they want to hear a 12 year old's own voice, a polished parent-shaped essay is the thing that will look odd. I'd find out before deciding how much to help.
