Why do KG application forms want both parents' education and job titles?

Filling in our first KG application tonight and stuck on page two. Father's qualification, mother's qualification, occupation, designation, even the employer's name. For a KG admission. Not trying to hide anything, I'd just like to know what it's used for. Does it count in the selection, or is it only for the school's records? My partner thinks we should write as little as possible. I think a blank looks worse. Has anyone asked a school directly? ❤️
