What should our caregiver ask St Anthony Middle School in Nallakunta about class 1?

coral_fern_4973

Our caregiver lives in Nallakunta and her son starts class 1 in June. A relative's child goes to St Anthony Middle School and she is leaning towards it. She asked me to help her think through the visit, and I realised I don't know what to tell her about a State Board school in that area. Her concerns are practical: what time class 1 finishes, whether English is used in the classroom from the start, and how much homework needs a parent sitting with the child, since she is with us until six. If your child is in the small classes there, or you've visited, I'll pass on whatever you can share.

Our girl is only one and a half, so we haven't got to school yet, but we've started looking at nurseries on our side. One thing I'd add to her list: ask what time the class 1 children are really sent out, not the official time. A friend found out after joining that the little ones at their school waited for the older siblings' bell :)

That's useful, thank you. The release time matters more for her than the start time, since a neighbour would be doing the pickup. I'll add it to the list.
